Yuma Block Party: Thanks GCHQ for 25 Amazing Years!

and
S*W*A*G

It has been almost 10 years since the last Geocaching Block Party, hosted by Geocaching HQ, in quirky Fremont, WA.  With the 25th anniversary of geocaching, we invite you to join us as we celebrate, take a stroll down memory lane, and thank GCHQ for all they do for us.

The main event takes place on Sunday, February 2, 2025, from 8am to 2pm, but the fun lasts all week.  Any down time can be spent finding some of Yuma’s amazing geocaches.  Even in the winter, you can count on warm, dry weather for perfect geocaching conditions!

BLOCK PARTY ITINERARY

Main Stage:

You'll want to check out our Main Stage throughout the day.  We start the day with an opening ceremony, and end with awards and the closing ceremony.  We are organizing panels of speakers at the beginning of each hour to talk about what they do for geocaching and give you the opportunity to ask questions, and on the half-hour we will have guest speakers talking about geocaching's past (or future).  We'll even have an open mic time for you to tell your stories so you won't want to miss it!

Activities:

We are currently planning the Block Party activities, but here are some things to expect:

  • Awards and Door Prizes
  • Raffle Tickets
  • Geo Bingo
  • 50/50 SWAG Donation Giveaway
  • Poker Run
  • Creative Cache Display
  • X Marks the Spot
  • CITO Challenge

What to do before, and after the Block Party:

Geocaches:

While there are a lot of geocaches for you to find in the area, we are planning a new Geo-Art in celebration of this Block Party 25.  We will also be placing many new S*W*A*G geocaches for you to find.

Adventure Labs:

We are planning several new Adventure Labs for you to enjoy.  Expect them to be published during the Block Party week.

Discounted Tours:

We are talking with area attractions to get Block Party discounts on popular tours.  These will only be available during Block Party week.

Check back often as we get closer to the Celebration
